Thunderheads

I live in the desert and sometimes we get weird storms. The light gets a strange quality to it, it becomes very quiet except for the wind and the thunder, and there is energy everywhere in the air. This can sometimes drive me a little crazy. I get as though i've been tased with caffeine. I painted this last night with one of those storms raging in an attempt to get that energy out. This was the result. I wanted to show the waves of clouds in the sky looming like mountains and to capture that insane quality of light.
