Yes, after over a year of being gone I'm back to dA, and with a new painting even. My body is still quite wrecked from being hit by an SUV, but I've decided to just ignore that and begin painting again. I hope to finish the book soon but I have a few paintings in my head I want to get out on paper before working on that project again. I'll be around and I'm sure I owe you all a lot of comments on your deviations so look for those. It's nice to be back.

  On June 6th of this year (that's about 6 weeks ago now) I was hit by a car in a crosswalk. I've been pretty badly injured, especially my spine. I have five herniated and torn discs in my back as a result of being hit and flung to the ground. This has prevented me from working on my art in any capacity. In fact, I can't do much but sit or lie around. I start physical therapy tomorrow and I will have to undergo several spinal injections and depending how that goes I will (likely) need surgery to fix the damage.
  So I have no new art to show off, with the exception of two paintings I finished the week I was hit, for probably some time to come. That's all for now. If you want to support an injured artist, you could buy a print, or even a postcard or magnet. Take care, my friends.

I am closer than ever to finishing my children's book project. I have only a couple of pages left. I'll be working on it every day until it's done, so I'm looking at a week or two. I've been very busy with everything else, and I'm dying to finish this so I can freely work on some other project. Or a commission coming along to break it up a little bit. That would be nice. I'm not on the site much, but I'll try to leave comments on everyone I follow soon.

I realized I haven't updated my journal since November and it's now February so I'd better take care of that. I'll try to keep it short but sweet. My foot is still healing but I can spend a great deal more time on the floor so I have been painting more as my gallery shows. I'll try to keep the artwork coming, though not every page I illustrate for my book will be put up. I have several larger pieces that are about half-finished so perhaps it's time to dig those out and get them fully finished. I don't think I really have anything more interesting to say than that. I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I keep putting up my t-shirt designs because it's still all I can really do right now. Painting, which is my preferred genre in which to work, is still too difficult due to a nasty foot/ankle injury. So, my followers get the simpler stuff. I'm really low on supplies too, and I do have an acrylic painting in progress, but that one has at least another 30-40 hours worth of work on it before it's done. I guess my point is no one will be seeing much from me for at least another month, and the pieces I do put up will be more design-based, less painting.
